About Me

Gina SavanhuI’m Gina Savanhu.

I was awarded an LLB (Hons) in 2002 and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Law, London in 2003.

After completing the academic stage of my legal training, I moved to Howe & Co for my professional legal training. As a leading human rights and immigration firm, whose cases have led to changes in the law and policy, this was the perfect place for me to start practising immigration law.

In the years following my qualification, I have successfully represented clients in appeals brought against adverse decisions made by the Home Office before the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum) Chambers and the Upper Tribunal.

In addition, I have represented clients in Judicial Review challenges in the Administrative Court against decisions made by the Home Office concerning their entitlement to remain in the UK.

I have also worked as a government lawyer where I advised a central government department in Public Law litigation relating to immigration law.

As you’d expect, I have in-depth knowledge of immigration law and policy gained in my many years of practice in this field, having represented migrants in their initial applications and in challenges in the higher courts.
